Making Waves at The Abbey Resort: A Lake Geneva Styled Shoot Built on Collaboration

A lakeside wedding venue with timeless charm. A vendor team that showed up with heart. This Wisconsin Bride editorial was created to celebrate what we love most about this work: true collaboration. The kind that turns a vision into something you can feel.

Set in Fontana-on-Geneva Lake, Wisconsin, this portfolio feature highlights refined, true-to-life imagery rooted in story, texture, and relationship-led creativity.

A peek inside this issue…

Editorial magazine spread featuring a boat with a woman on it and wedding stationary, with a woman relaxing by the waterfront, all featured in Wisconsin Bride.
A wedding setup at a marina with a white and blue floral theme, including a stage decorated with white and blue flowers and a dock filled with boats in the background. Inside the page, there are images of a bride in a white gown holding a bouquet, a woman holding a white flower arrangement, a close-up of a Corgi dog with a blue collar, and a woman wearing a strapless dress.
A table set for an outdoor wedding with white and blue floral arrangements, on a striped blue and white tablecloth, surrounded by chairs, under tall pine trees. Additional images show blue and white candies, a menu card on a scalloped plate, and a close-up of the floral centerpiece.

The Setting

The Abbey Resort is one of Lake Geneva’s most iconic waterfront venues. It’s equal parts elevated retreat and classic Midwest lake luxury. From the shoreline views to the marina energy and pine-lined grounds, it offers that rare mix of serenity and celebration.

The Creative Direction

Designed and produced by Graceful Events, the concept leaned into a fresh blue-and-white palette inspired by the lake itself. Clean, crisp, and effortlessly romantic. Every detail was chosen to complement the setting, not compete with it: soft coastal textures, tailored stripes, dimensional florals, and modern rentals that gave the day a fashion-forward edge.

The Experience We Captured

Lakeside ceremony beauty

A floral-forward by Frontier Flowers of Fontana created a ceremony moment framed the waterline with intentional, airy fullness, classic, natural, and editorial all at once.

The Lake Geneva moment: The Lorelei

A cruise on The Lorelei (Lake Geneva Cruise Line) added movement, nostalgia, and cinematic energy. Proof that the most meaningful images often come from experiences, not just locations.

Al fresco reception design

Under the trees, a dinner setting came to life with layered linens, modern seating, tactile stationery details, and florals designed to feel like they belong outdoors. Refined, grounded, and inviting.

Statement bar + dessert artistry

A bold bar moment and a wave-inspired dessert installation brought the playful side of luxury. Interactive, photogenic, and built for celebration.

Why We Loved This Team

At C.Mae, we believe the strongest images are created when vendors work in sync. When everyone is invested in a shared outcome and trusts one another’s craft. This shoot was relationship-led from start to finish, and it shows in every frame.

If you’re a planner, venue, florist, or creative partner and you’re building elevated experiences with intention, we’d love to create alongside you.
